Hush Mini

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 September 2026

Hush Mini ("the app") is published by SnailPixel ("we"). This policy explains what the app does with your data. The short version: the app works on your device and we do not collect your personal data. The only third-party service in the app is Google AdMob, which shows ads to users without a Hush Premium subscription.

What the app processes on your device

  • Notifications. With your permission (Notification access), the app reads incoming notifications to decide whether to block them according to your rules (keywords, apps, schedules, Downtime). Blocked notifications are stored in a block log in the app's private storage on your device. You can delete them at any time. Notification content is never sent to us or to anyone else.
  • DNS requests. When DNS protection is on, the app uses Android's VpnService to route only DNS requests to the public DNS resolver you selected (for example Cloudflare, Quad9 or CleanBrowsing) and to block ad, tracker or adult-content domains locally. The app does not route your internet traffic through any server operated by us and is not a VPN service. The resolver you choose receives your DNS queries under its own privacy policy.
  • Installed apps. The blocked-apps and DNS-bypass pickers list the apps installed on your device. This list stays on the device.
  • Family lock PIN. The parent PIN is stored only as a salted hash in the app's private storage.
  • Settings and statistics. Your filters, schedules, blocked counters and streaks are stored on the device. The optional backup file is created only when you export it and is shared only with the app you choose.

Advertising (free version)

The free version shows banner ads and occasional full-screen ads served by Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect the Android advertising ID, approximate location derived from your IP address, ad interaction data and diagnostics, and shares them with Google to serve and measure ads. See Google's privacy policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings > Google > Ads. In the European Economic Area and the UK you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings > Privacy options. Subscribing to Hush Premium removes all ads.

Purchases

Hush Premium is sold through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment and holds your purchase history under the Google Play terms and privacy policy. The app stores only whether the subscription is active.

Data we collect

We do not operate any servers for this app and do not collect, store or sell personal data. The app has no accounts and no analytics or crash-reporting SDK.

Children

Hush Mini is intended for adults, including parents who set up the Family lock on a child's device. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Security

Data stays on your device in the app's private storage. Communication with Google services uses encrypted connections.

Your choices

  • Revoke Notification access or the VPN connection at any time in Android Settings; the app stops filtering immediately.
  • Delete the block log from the app, or clear all data by uninstalling the app.
  • Manage or cancel the subscription in Google Play > Payments & subscriptions.
