GetMeUp
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 September 2026
GetMeUp ("the app") is an alarm clock with wake-up missions and sleep sounds, published by SnailPixel ("we"). This policy explains what the app does with your data. The short version: the app works on your device, has no accounts and no servers, and we do not collect your personal data. The only third-party service in the app is Google AdMob, which shows ads to users without a GetMeUp Pro subscription.
What the app processes on your device
- Alarms and settings. Your alarms, labels, chosen missions, sounds and app settings are stored in the app's private storage on your device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.
- Camera (Barcode and Photo missions). If you choose one of these missions, the app uses the camera, with your permission, to recognise the barcode or the place you picked. Camera frames are analysed on the device, in memory, and are not saved or transmitted. Barcode recognition uses Google ML Kit with a model bundled in the app, running on-device. For a Barcode mission the app stores the text of the code you scanned. For a Photo mission it stores a small numeric signature of the view and a small thumbnail so you can recognise your spot in the alarm editor. Both stay in the app's private storage and are deleted with the alarm data when you uninstall the app.
- Camera light. If you turn on "Flash the light" for an alarm, the app blinks the camera flash while that alarm rings. This uses the light only; no picture is taken.
- Motion sensor (Shake and Steps missions). The app reads the accelerometer only while such a mission is on screen, to count shakes or steps. The readings are not stored.
- Wake-up history and Insights. To show your wake-up streak and the Insights charts, the app keeps a short on-device history of how each alarm ended (time, number of snoozes, mission type). The charts are worked out on your phone from that history and the sleep log. It is trimmed automatically after about four months and never leaves the device.
- Sleep log. The optional sleep log records when you started your sleep sounds or tapped "going to bed", and when you dismissed your alarm. It is stored only on the device and you can delete any night from it.
- Sleep sounds. Sounds are generated on the device. Nothing is downloaded or streamed.
- Backup. Android cloud backup and device transfer are turned off for the app. The optional backup file (a GetMeUp Pro feature) is created only when you export it, and is saved only where you choose.
Advertising (free version)
The free version shows a banner ad on the alarm list and an occasional full-screen ad after you save an alarm, served by Google AdMob. There is also an optional rewarded ad: if you choose to watch it, every sleep sound and the long fade-outs are unlocked for 12 hours. That ad only ever starts when you tap its button. Ads are never shown on the ringing alarm screen, and no ad appears by itself on the sleep screen. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect the Android advertising ID, approximate location derived from your IP address, ad interaction data and diagnostics, and shares them with Google to serve and measure ads. See Google's privacy policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings > Google > Ads. In the European Economic Area and the UK you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings > Ad privacy choices. Your alarms, camera images and sleep log are never used for advertising. Subscribing to GetMeUp Pro removes all ads.
Purchases
GetMeUp Pro is sold through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment and holds your purchase history under the Google Play terms and privacy policy. The app stores only whether the subscription is active and, during a free trial, when that trial ends, so it can remind you on your phone the day before. That reminder is a local notification; nothing is sent anywhere to produce it.
Data we collect
We do not operate any servers for this app and do not collect, store or sell personal data. The app has no accounts and no analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
Children
GetMeUp is a general-audience utility. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Security
Data stays on your device in the app's private storage. Communication with Google services uses encrypted connections.
Your choices
- Revoke the camera permission at any time in Android Settings; alarms that use a camera mission then fall back to a maths mission instead of becoming impossible to dismiss.
- Delete alarms and sleep-log nights in the app, or clear all data by uninstalling it.
- Manage or cancel the subscription in Google Play > Payments & subscriptions.
